Turkmenistan held an event within the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session in Portugal

On June 30, in the Portuguese city of Porto, Turkmenistan held a side event on the theme "International Year of Peace and Trust: Strengthening Multilateralism for a Secure and Sustainable Future" as part of the 32nd session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Pia Kauma, the Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly attended the event for Central Asia Farah Karimi, as well as representatives of the parliaments of the participating countries.

The participants emphasized the importance of neutrality as an effective mechanism for promoting international peace, stability and dialogue.

In their speeches, the representatives of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly noted that Turkmenistan's experience in implementing a neutral foreign policy is of interest in terms of promoting trust and culture.

The significance of the International Year of Peace and Trust as a platform for strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and deepening partnerships within the OSCE and other international organizations was separately emphasized, the source notes.
