In the south of Ashgabat, the Magtymguly Fragi park complex will be inaugurated on May 17
The opening ceremony of the cultural and park complex “Makhtumkuli Fragi” and the monument to the outstanding classic of Turkmen literature will take place on May 17. Deputy Prime Minister M. Mammedova reported about this at a government meeting.
The park complex has developed in the southern part of Ashgabat, not far from the Health Path. Its central part is the Magtymguly Fragi monument. The height of the bronze sculpture is 60 meters, the diameter of the pedestal is 25 meters. Sculptural images of many foreign writers and prominent personalities were erected next to the statue of Magtymguly. These sculptures are also made in bronze and reach 3.5 meters in height.
As you know, People’s Artist of Turkmenistan Saragt Babayev worked on the statue of the poet, and a whole team of sculptors helped him with this.
The new cultural and park complex “Makhtumkuli Fragi” will be a visible embodiment of the friendship and brotherhood of peoples, which the great poet called for in his immortal poems.
