A meeting of the Conference of Heads of Railway Enterprises of the OSJD Member Countries is being held in Ashgabat
The 38th meeting of the Conference of heads and responsible representatives of railway transport enterprises of the member countries of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD) began its work in Ashgabat. The meeting will last until April 19.
Opening the meeting, Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammetkhan Chakyev, read out a welcoming address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The forum is attended by heads and high-ranking representatives of railway departments of 19 OSJD member countries, as well as observers from 4 countries: Finland, France, Germany and Greece.
The preliminary agenda for the meeting includes:
- Consideration of the work results for 2023 of the OSJD Commission on Freight Transport, the OSJD Commission on Passenger Transport, the OSJD Commission on Infrastructure and Rolling Stock, the OSJD Permanent Working Group on Coding and Informatics, the OSJD Permanent Working Group on Financial and Settlement Issues.
- Discussion of the progress of mutual settlements and the mechanism for repaying debts between railways.
- Review of the progress of the Interim Working Group on Vocational Education/Training in the Field of Rail Transport.
- Approval of the OSJD Activities Report for 2023, the OSJD Work Program for 2025 and subsequent years, the OSJD Committee Budget (final for 2024 and preliminary for 2025).
- Discussion of issues regarding the location of the OSJD Committee and granting the status of an affiliated OSJD enterprise.
- Determination of the preliminary agenda, date and place of the XXXIX meeting of the Conference of heads and responsible representatives of railway transport enterprises of the OSJD member countries.
It is expected that following the results of the conference, important documents will be signed aimed at further developing cooperation in the field of railway transport between the OSJD member countries.
