Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will create a joint railway venture
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agreed to create a joint venture between the railway administrations of the two countries for the development of the Trans-Afghan railway route. The agreement was reached during the working visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Khiva, reports the press service of the administration of the Kazakh leader.
The heads of the two countries agreed on a mutually beneficial basis to provide cargo terminals on the Kazakh-Chinese border and in Uzbekistan in order to organize cargo transportation along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan route.
The initiative is aimed at increasing bilateral trade, increasing the volume of goods transported, and stimulating cargo transportation in the southern direction.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also discussed with Shavkat Mirziyoyev the issues of accelerating cooperation projects and the implementation of investment agreements and trade contracts.
