On the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova on April 3 accepted credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to Turkmenistan Daria Bavdazh Kuret.

On behalf of the head of state, the head of the national parliament congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible post and wished him success in strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the Ambassador conveyed sincere greetings from the leadership of the Republic of Slovenia and wishes for prosperity and well-being to the Turkmen people to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

During the meeting, the diplomat was familiarized with the main directions of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, successfully implemented under the leadership of the head of state, as well as with the structure of the national parliament and legislative work.

Ambassador Daria Bavdazh Kuret noted the high international authority of Turkmenistan, which is achieving great success in the social, economic and humanitarian spheres.

During the meeting, a mutual exchange of views took place on bilateral and multilateral relations that are successfully developing within the framework of international organizations, primarily the United Nations.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to Turkmenistan Daria Bavdazh Kuret assured that she would make every effort to further strengthen interstate cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual trust.

Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On the same day, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Daria Bavdazh Kuret, who presented copies of her credentials.

M. Byashimova congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a responsible post and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic activities.

Next, the parties discussed the agenda of Turkmen-Slovenian relations, covering various areas of interstate interaction. It was stated that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Slovenia is developing on the basis of the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutually beneficial partnership.

The interlocutors discussed issues of holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Slovenian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, as well as political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
