On the occasion of the opening of the city of Arkadag, on July 2, an international conference was held entitled “City of Arkadag - a city of “smart” and “green” technologies, jointly organized by the Agency “Turkmenaragatnashyk” and the city hall of the city of Arkadag.

The meeting was held in the building of the Department of Communications of the city of Arkadag and in the city library named after Dovletmammet Azadi of the city of Arkadag.

The conference was attended by foreign scientists, experts, and businessmen, as well as representatives of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan, CJSC Vostochnyi Veter,  Kazakhtelecom, Huawei Technologies, Nokia, Yutong International Co., Ltd, DeltaTelecom, Sony, NEC Communication and Information Technologies Ltd, Rostelecom, Kamaz. Also among the participants are heads and representatives of such companies as Kaspersky, Tales Alenia Space, SSI-MONACO SAM, Terralink Global, Cisco, Elsevedy Electric, Hyundai Corporation, and Sumitomo Corporation.

In accordance with the broad program of the international conference, which includes such issues as the development of international cooperation, the widespread introduction of the capabilities of the "smart city" and "smart home" systems in Turkmenistan, the attraction of foreign investment in this system, the introduction of modern technologies and projects, information security, etc. Dozens of domestic and foreign scientists, experts, business circles, as well as representatives of international organizations who expressed their desire to participate and received an invitation, made impressive presentations.

In particular, Yun Suk Choi, Vice President of Hyundai Corporation, Valery Zubanov, Commercial Director for Central Asia of Kaspersky Lab, Bernard Hepp, Director of International Development - Strategy and Business Development of Tales Alenia Space, President and CEO of SSI-MONACO Ilkhami Aigun, director of East Wind CJSC Boris Bubnov, director of Terralink Global Oleg Zolotarev spoke about new technological solutions for smart and green cities.

The international conference was held in two sessions: The first one was "Smart and green cities" - the key to the sustainable and efficient development of urban infrastructure. The second one is Technologies and Solutions for Smart and Green Cities.

The highly organized and effectively conducted international conference brought together heads of international organizations and representatives of leading global companies to establish new partnerships in the field of communications and strengthen existing positive relationships, attract investment, build new smart cities, and introduce advanced technologies.
