Transport in the spotlight of Turkmen-Italian negotiations
During negotiations between the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Italy Matteo Salvini and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Rashid Meredov, Turkmenistan and Italy reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of railway transport, port and sea communications, Trend reports.
According to a statement by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, transport cooperation between the two countries was at the center of the negotiations.
The parties signed two memorandums of understanding with the Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority and with the Italian railway network Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). These documents are aimed at developing partnerships between ports, establishing maritime connections and cooperation in the field of railway infrastructure and intermodal hubs.
The purpose of the agreements is to stimulate cooperation in the field of transport links between Italy and Turkmenistan, as well as strengthening the interaction between ports and railway systems.
