Twelve Turkmen artists presented their works dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi
An exhibition of works by 12 Turkmen artists dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi opened at the Exhibition Center for Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, 120 paintings, sculptures and ceramic works were exhibited at the exhibition, called “Spring in the country glorified by Fragi”.
For the most part, the authors of the works are graduates of different years of the Tashkent State Theater and Art Institute, and now the State Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan named after K. Begzad.
As the Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Azat Annaev noted, there are no particular differences in the work of graduates of the Turkmen and Uzbek academies.
The portrait of Magtymguly by Rakhman Umarov is located in the center of the exhibition hall. The source notes that the portrait is so successful that this year it opened many exhibitions in Ashgabat.
Most of the paintings in the exhibition were created based on Magtymguly’s poems. Spring in the country, glorified by Fragi, is reflected in the paintings in spring landscapes, beautiful girls, mischievous boys and a peaceful, happy life.
