iPhone 14 won't have a SIM card slot

The upcoming iPhone 14 will lose its physical SIM card slot. As reports the publication secretmag.ru, Apple plans to switch to virtual eSIMs, which are gaining more and more popularity in Europe and Asia, permitting users to switch between different telecom operators, choosing a more convenient tariff.

As the representative of the American transnational telecommunications company AT&T noted, such a solution is a “natural evolution”. It is known that Apple filed a patent application back in 2011 with references to eSIM technology.

The release of the iPhone 14, with a new camera and a redesigned “notch”, is expected this autumn.
