Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator in the country Dmitry Shlapachenko. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed current areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN and its specialized agencies. Particular attention was paid to issues of preparation for the meeting of the Strategic Advisory Council "Turkmenistan - UN".

The meeting participants noted the importance of the regular session of the UN General Assembly, which began on September 9 in New York, as an important international platform for discussing current issues on the global agenda.

In the context of preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to assist in holding planned events in the country.
