The Foreign Minister held meetings in Dubai with the leadership of UAE energy companies and IRENA
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai. On Monday, February 12, the Minister met with Saeed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the water and electricity sectors. In this context, the development of renewable energy sources is identified as a promising direction of Turkmen-Emirati cooperation, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
On the same day, Rashid Meredov held negotiations with the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies, General Director of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber. The talk, in particular, was about establishing contacts on the introduction of advanced UAE technologies in the oil industry, as well as the implementation of agreements reached at the level of the leadership of the two states. The meeting was also attended by Mohammed Jamil Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (MASDAR)
A meeting was also held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Gauri Singh. In the context of expanding cooperation, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of opening an IRENA office in Turkmenistan.
