Matvienko and Babushkin congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the 80th anniversary of the Victory

Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko and Governor of the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation Igor Babushkin sent congratulatory messages to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in connection with the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).

In her message, Valentina Matviyenko noted that over time, the events of the war years are receding further into the past, and the number of living witnesses of the great feat is decreasing. "The historical memory of our ancestors' victory over fascism is one of the important factors in the friendly relations between Russia and Turkmenistan," the Chairperson of the Federation Council emphasized.

The Governor of the Astrakhan Region emphasized in his message that the spiritual and moral significance of Victory Day remains great for decades. "The entire multinational Soviet people fought for the freedom of their native land. Everyone bore the heaviest burden of war. And together they accomplished the immortal feat of saving the Fatherland," Igor Babushkin said in his congratulations.

Valentina Matviyenko and Igor Babushkin wished President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and all the Turkmen people good health, prosperity and peaceful skies.
