
Turkmenistan summed up the results of the Foreign Ministry’s work for January-March 2025
In the first quarter of this year, Turkmenistan held 178 online meetings at various levels and signed 31 international documents, as reported by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during his report on the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Saturday, TDH reports.
According to the head of the foreign policy department, during the reporting period, Turkmenistan successfully developed friendly relations and constructive cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Among the key diplomatic events, Meredov noted the January visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Principality of Monaco, the February working visit of the head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov to Turkmenistan, as well as the March official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.
The Minister emphasized that the country regularly holds official negotiations and meetings with representatives of foreign states and international organizations, carries out bilateral contacts between foreign policy departments, and systematically holds inter-MFA consultations. Targeted steps are also being taken to increase the country’s foreign economic relations.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, summing up the report, noted that independent neutral Turkmenistan implements a foreign policy aimed at ensuring universal well-being, and instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs to expand established relations with countries of the world and the region in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and scientific-educational spheres.
